What brand red wine to use with serloin steak?

August 29, 2010

I have a recipe for Red wine Sirloin Steak. It doesn’t say what kind of wine to use. Can someone tell me a good wine to use that doesn’t cost alot?
And just out of curiosity could I use Red wine vinegar or is that totally different?
*Also, please give me a suggestion that is easy to find…. like at a Walmart.
lol, okay. No red wine vinager.

Don’t need a brand name for cooking, and definitely no red wine vinegar. Whatever is on special this week will be fine in the shiraz, cabernet savignion, or merlot. The idea that you need a good wine for cooking is misguided.

What brand or type of red wine is good to drink before a good night of sex?

August 29, 2010

I’d like to know which good brands are out there to set a good mood for a romantic night??

Well, first of all, you need to understand that it is all about the ladies. If you are planning on having red wine WITH dinner, you want to go for the soft, light and fruity ones like: (those are grape names, the ones that the wine is made of, you will normally see them on the label) Cabernet Franc, Gamay and Pinot Noir.
Or, if you want to drink wine alone, all listed above are good. But you may want to try Fragolino (name) by La Giogiosa (brand), This is like Champagn but red, and is very sweet campared to a regular red wine. It does not say on the label the name of the grape its made of but I know that its normal wine, grape juice, sugar and gas. I dont really like it but the ladies JUST LOVE IT!!!! You cant be wrong with this one

P.S. If your lady dont like it, let me know and I’ll just shoot my self =]

Can your heart benefit from red wine?

August 24, 2010

We all know that there are a lot of benefits that one can get from drinking red wine, and, right now, studies have proven that drinking a glass of red wine is very healthy not only for our bodies, but most especially for our hearts.  But how can red wine be healthy for our hearts?  And what does it contain that proves it to be very beneficial for one of the most important organs of our body?

So, how can red wine be healthy for the heart?

There are a lot of heart health benefits from red wine.  For one, red wine can reduce the incidence of heart attacks by as much as 30% to 50% in men and women who are in their middle ages.  In men, the recommended intake of red wine is two glasses of red wine per day, and for women, the recommended intake is a glass of red wine a day.  Another benefit that the heart gets from red wine is that it can help in the prevention of another heart attack in individuals who have a past medical history of cardiovascular accidents.  Not only does red wine help decrease the LDL concentration in our bodies by reducing the formation of solid particles due to this “bad cholesterol,” but it also increases the HDL concentration in our bodies, which is the “good cholesterol.”  In the long run, taking red wine daily will decrease the incidence of blood clots and fatty deposits from forming, leaving the blood vessels free from any obstruction, thus, allowing the blood to circulate more freely throughout the blood vessels.

What does red wine contain that makes it very beneficial to the heart?

First and foremost, red wine contains antioxidants, and it is also very rich in phenolics.  Studies have pointed out that it is the phenolic component of red wine that gives the most benefit to the body.

The resveratrol constituent of phenolic is said to boost HDL and help in the prevention of blood clot formation, while the flavanoid constituent also helps in the reduction of formation and development of blood clots.  Flavanoid also has antioxidant characteristics, which not only helps fight off cancer development but also helps in the prevention of blood clot formation.

However, it should be noted that, even though red wine is good for the heart, it does not mean that you have to excessively take in red wine daily.  Like all things, drinking red wine should be moderated because any excess of anything can lead to detrimental consequences.

Excessive red wine consumption can lead to alcoholism and increased cancer risk.  The recommended dosage of red wine is as stated above.
