I really enjoy white wine but would like to find a red that i can enjoy too?
July 14, 2010
Any suggestions for a red wine that isn’t too dry? I enjoy a lot of white wines but the health benefits of a red wine are much more appealing, so I was wondering where I could start to find a red wine that isn’t too much of a change.
Off to the wine merchant with you, look for something light and fruity, gamay would be an excellent start, and when you get it home chill it like you would a white, I mean it. so don’t go spending huge amounts.
Wine is my career and I’ve said this to many surprised guests over the years. It is one of the ways to get onto red wines. Another way is to get a really deep rose which will have bags of flavour but will be light on the tannins and light to medium bodied compared to red. Go and experiment, go on, do it now.

Got something to say?

Go to your wine merchant and explain the kind of wine you enjoy. They will be able to recommend the right bottle for you. I enjoy a Merlot but you may think this is too dry.

Go to your city’s best wine store and talk to the clerks. They will be able to pinpoint a wine for you that meets your needs on all levels, including taste and budget.

Try anything from Germany. They’re usually a lot sweeter.
My favorite is Dr. Zen Zen Pinot Noir. Sooo good.
Black Tower has a red now too, and it’s amazing.
